LUCY LIU

R&B

Lucy Liu was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. Although she had always enjoyed performing as a child, it was at the age of 12 when she discovered her true love for singing. Quick to act on her interests, she began to research vocal technique on her own, training herself and practicing whenever and wherever she could.

During high school, Lucy auditioned for a local singing/dancing team, which gave her the opportunity to perform at various competitions, even in malls. Jumping at every chance to participate in open mics and talent showcases, Lucy never hesitated to pursue her desire to sing, going as far to request a performance at her Speech team's annual awards banquet. Voted "Most Valuable Singer" of the all-girls ensemble within her first year of joining, Lucy was also an active member in her high school choir.

Using computer software to write, compose, and record her own music, Lucy has already produced several original songs. With over 8 years of violin experience, she infuses not only her instrumental abilities but also her interest in other languages (Japanese, Chinese, French) into her music. Although her love for singing spans across all different musical genres, Lucy is particularly inspired by the artists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera. Currently residing in the east San Francisco bay area, Lucy is a freshman at New York University's Stern School of Business.
