Pavan Thimmaiah
Co-CEO/Choreographer
 
In
2001, in addition to founding what is now known
as the PMT Seasonal Showcase Company, Pavan also founded
PMT Dance Studio in New York City. Since that time,
Pavan has choreographed commercially for the music and
the fashion industry, including Miss America & Miss USA
pageant models, Ebony magazine models, and more. He has
been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers,
including a recent review in “Attitude: The Dancer’s
Magazine” where he was applauded for his performance in
the recent PMT Fall Showcase. He has headed dance
seminars across the east coast and appeared on MTV and
in skits for the Conan O’ Brien Show and choreographed
for a number of venues and events, including
choreographing and performing in the opening number for
the Bollywood International Movie Awards 2003 where he
was the featured performer. Pavan has performed in
shows and concerts with the likes of Apache Indian and
Sean Paul. He was selected as a feature choreographer
for the International Dance Festival’s “Men at Work”
Showcase and has performed with his reformed dance
company at venues such as the Canadian National
Exhibition in Toronto, Canada.
Currently, Pavan is featured in the 4-part instructional
video releases “Break Dancing Made Simple” & “Basic Hip
Hop Dance” and a new feature length documentary on South
Asian Dancers to be released in April 2007. Pavan also
choreographed a music video with recording artists
RAIN. Pavan’s teaching credits include Peridance,
Ballet Arts, Wadleigh School for the Performing Arts as
well as the School of American Ballet as a guest
teacher. Pavan continues to teach and expand the Hip
Hop dance curriculum at New York University, Long Island
University and PMT Dance Studio.
